I'm happy to announce the official launch of my writing coaching and editing business. Although I've been doing this work for many years, I am intentionally expanding and growing my business. I believe strongly in the power of art, stories, and poems, and know that they are able to not only transform our own consciousness but also the consciousness of others. When I work with clients, helping them deepen their work, or revise their manuscripts, I don't consider it purely a cerebral act. For me, it is an act of service and spiritual work. Part of my coaching involves helping people overcome their triggers, fears, traumas, and blocks around writing and telling their stories, with an emphasis on deeply emotional pieces.
I graduated from New College of CA with my MFA in writing. My forthcoming poetry book will be published in November 2017. I'm a published writer with 15+ years of writing, publication, and editing experience. In 2009, I had the privilege of being an STP with June Jordan's Poetry for the People program at UC Berkeley where they supported emerging poets develop their craft and deepen their voice. I have also participated in residencies at: THIS Bridge: Arab, Middle Eastern & Muslim Artists Series at University of Southern Florida, Hambidge Center for Creative Arts in Northern Georgia, Kimmel Nelson Harding Center in Nebraska, The Guapamacátaro Center for Art and Ecology in Michoacán, Mexico and more.
I love working with clients to identify their writing strengths and bring them to the surface. I am extremely energetic and passionate about both academic and creative writing. I offer proofreading and editing for doctoral dissertations, graduate thesis, and undergraduate course papers.
